New Payment API Enables Developers to Accept Payments via iZettle
European mobile payment startup iZettle has released an API that enables third-party iOS apps to process card payments via iZettle. iZettle provides a service that turns a smartphones into a mobile card payment terminal. The API is based on a custom URL scheme that allows developers to collect payments via iZettle within the flow of their app. Developers can register here.
Mobile Money Management App Lemon Raises $8M, Starts Mobile Wallet Service
Lemon has secured an $8 million in Series A funding to turn its personal financial management (PFM) service into a digital wallet. The new Smarter Wallet app from Lemon lets users store their credit, debit and loyalty cards, as well as tickets, receipts and coupons in one place. For the time being the app is just a place to store and organize all financial data and does not support mobile payments – but that is something the company is planning to integrate in the future.
